St. Christopher CCW had two big events this past fall: Boxes of Joy and the Christmas/Holiday Bazaar. This is the third year that the CCW has participated in Boxes of Joy. This nation-wide project, sponsored by Cross Catholic Outreach, gives gift boxes to children in Latin America that would not have any Christmas. In these boxes you can find toys, crafts, clothes, school items and anything that a child would enjoy. Each box is checked to make sure it also contains a rosary and booklet that explains how to use it. Many churches in the diocese participated in the project, with over 1,000 boxes shipped, 75 of those from our parish! Men, women, boys and girls can all volunteer to help at this event; we will find a job for you. Service hours can also be earned by helping with this annual event!
The biggest project for St. Christopher CCW is our annual bazaar. Each year, the second Saturday of November is dedicated to this event, held in the Parish Center. Our bazaar consists of a Craft Room filled with home made items, theme gift baskets, sports items, baby items, pictures and plaques, religious items and many other things too numerous to list.
In addition we have a Bake Shop, Children’s Shop for those 12 and under to shop without parents, a Beef Sandwich Luncheon, and a Sweepstakes drawing with cash and other prizes! Sweepstakes tickets were sent out in October and were also available in the narthex of both St. Andrew and St. Maria Goretti churches. You did not need to be present to win! The CCW meets the second Tuesday of the month and our next meeting will be February 12, 2025 at 9:15 am. Every woman of the parish is an automatic member of the Council of Catholic Women.
