Fern Reilly took on the volunteer role as Liturgy Coordinator at St. Maria Goretti, following Sr. Denise Herrmann’s retirement in 2023.
Fern completed her Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, majoring in Human Resources, and worked as a human resources specialist for most of her professional career at the University of Wisconsin.
Her liturgy coordinator experience began at St. Christopher Parish in Verona, where she volunteered her time serving on the Liturgy Commission, as well as sacristan and the liturgical ministry scheduler for altar servers, ushers, greeters, lectors, Extraordinary Ministers, and rosary leaders. In addition to serving in most of these ministries personally, she also provided training for altar servers, lectors, and ushers.
After joining St. Maria Goretti parish in 2018, she began serving as a sacristan, daily Mass lector, and Extraordinary Minister. She eventually took on the task of scheduling Extraordinary Ministers for weekend Masses.
Fern’s goal as a liturgy coordinator is primarily to provide assistance to our priests as a sacristan and support the planning and liturgical needs of St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church. She enjoys serving in the parish and utilizing her gifts and talents, especially in the liturgical areas.
Fern and her husband, Mike, live in the Verona area and have two adult sons.
